Bond Referendum

Welcome to the University Park Recreation District’s Bond Referendum Information Page.  On this page you will find a wealth of information regarding the upcoming bond referendum and the information that was mailed to your official mailing address as determined by the Manatee County Property Appraiser’s Office.

The referendum voting is one vote per home in University Park.  Multiple votes from the same home address will not be accepted.

A Bond Referendum Information Workshop will be held on January 22, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Room at University Park Country Club.  At this time, we will review the documents and members of the District Staff and the Board of Supervisors will be available to answer your questions.

Letter to Residents:

On January 14 & 15, each property owner in University Park RD was sent a letter from Chairman, Bob Wood.  Each letter includes:

• A letter from Mr. Bob Wood, Chairman of the University Park Recreation District (PDF | RTF)

Voting Procedures:

An independent accounting firm will supervise and certify the results of the referendum.  The accounting firm will open and tally all ballots.

How can I vote?

You may vote by one of three ways:

1.  Vote by Mail

Use the ballot and self-addressed envelop enclosed in your letter.

Note: Ballots must be received by February 6, 2019.  

2.  In Person

You will need to bring a form of legal identification and proof of property ownership.  To prove ownership, access the Manatee County Property Appraiser’s website:  https://www.manateepao.com/ManateeFL/search/commonsearch.aspx?mode=address. Search for your property.  Select the property and print the property profile.

3.  Download the website ballot & instructions (PDF | RTF)

These are the instructions for the website ballot.  You must include:

1. A copy of your legal identification
2. Proof of property ownership. To prove ownership, access the Manatee County Property Appraiser’s website:  https://www.manateepao.com/ManateeFL/search/commonsearch.aspx?mode=address. Search for your property.  Select the property and print the property profile.
3. Place the ballot in a separate, sealed envelope.
4. Place sealed envelope, copy of identification, proof of ownership in an envelope and mail to:
